Here’s who you may bump into when you visit Stitching on State:
Mike is a pharmacist by education and retired from many years with Walgreens to become a certified Bernina and Pfaff technician and co-owner of Stitching on State with his wife, Elaine. Mike truly enjoys working on both the newer, computerized sewing machines as well as the sturdy, straightforward machines of years ago. He takes great pride in his attention to detail and appreciates the trust people place in him when they drop off their machines for service. In his spare time, Mike spends his time doing model railroading (HO Gauge, 1950’s Great Northern layout) or works on his ’68 and ’93 Camaro.
Elaine is a nurse by education and has been quilting since the 70’s when she purchased a garage sale sewing machine in Wyoming. She began as a traditional quilter and has recently embraced machine embroidery and home dec projects. Elaine’s vision for Stitching on State is one of fellowship, friendship and support so that everyone who enters feels welcome and finds inspiration and the tools they need to be creative.
Terri is our Store Manager, Educator, and Design Consultant. Terri has a formal background in art and is a marvel with colors. Nothing makes Terri more happy than helping people design and plan their projects or teaching them the skills they need to be successful at quilting. Terri designs and presents the popular First Saturday series and is the key to our beautiful and creative booths at the shows we attend.
Design Consultant, Software Educator, and embroidery expert, Jann began quilting over 30 years ago when a group of friends decided to take a class together. Seven years ago, Jann decided to try her hand at machine embroidery. She loved it and found that the more she learned the more she wanted to know! Jann loves sharing her expertise with others and leads several classes and clubs, including those with a software focus.
Anne is a Design Consultant and Educator at Stitching on State. Anne loves all styles of quilting and embroidery but her true love is rulers! There is hardly a day that goes by without Anne suggesting a new or improved ruler that we have to try out. Anne leads our popular monthly mystery club series and Quilt the Day Away program.
Though Judy has been sewing since third grade, her love of quilting began in 2004 after a pair of co-workers dragged her to a guild meeting. Four years later she joined the staff at the quilt shop. As a Design Consultant and Educator, Judy loves the sharing of problems and solutions, of personal successes and enthusiasm, with both the staff and customers in the time honored traditions of quilting.
Theresa brings her ready smile and can-do attitude whenever she is in the shop. While Theresa enjoys all types of quilting, she LOVES to applique’ and shares her tips, tricks, and skills with others through her many applique’ classes. Theresa is committed to helping others fully utilize the capabilities and features of their machines. This commitment has developed into her popular Do You Speak Sewing Machine? classes which offer one on one training on any and all sewing machine models.

Fran brings a love of hand quilting to our customers at Stitching on State and truly enjoys sharing her expertise and tips with our customers.
