Get the look of hand appliqué by using your sewing machine. This is a technique class where we will explore 3 different ways to prepare your fabric for invisible machine appliqué, which turns under the raw edge, using freezer paper, interfacing and/or starch. (This is NOT raw edge applique and does not use fusible web). Learn to make perfect circles, flowers and stems. This technique is used by Lori Holt and other designers for their machine applique quilts.
Class will include, machine set up for YOUR machine, appropriate tension, needle and thread as well as stitch selection based on capabilities of your machine. An open toe foot is recommended as well as machine with zig zag or blind hem stitch. Sufficient time will be allowed to practice each technique so you can confidently applique your next project.
